Vains Of Jenna formed in 2005, in the small town of Falkenberg, Sweden, when JP White (Joakim Petersson) and Lizzy DeVine (Jimmy Johansson) got together to start a band. They soon recruited JP's younger brother Jacki Stone (Emil Petersson) and his band mate from a previous project, Nicki Kin (Niklas Lundahl). The band was now complete with Lizzy singing lead & playing rhythm guitar, Nicki on lead guitar, JP on the bass, and Jacki playing the drum.

Shortly after forming, they went and recorded demos in their rehearsal studio and in Lizzy's very basic home studio. They released a 3 songs demo for free on their web site. The songs on that demo were "Heartbreak Suicide", "ASAD", and "Hard To Be Vain." Lizzy posted a link to their free demo on a message board and the rest was history. The band who had only played a handful shows around where they lived in Sweden, was asked to fly half way around the world, to play at Cruefest at the Whiskey A Go Go in West Hollywood, California... The band accepted.

The band flew to Los Angeles and on July 30th 2005, then 19 year olds Jacki & Nicki, 21 year old JP, and 24 year old Lizzy, played their very first gig outside of Sweden. (Watch Vains Of Jenna's 2005 Cruefest concert here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEF83C635C360425C ) It was at their Cruefest gig that they caught the attention of Stevie Rachelle, former lead singer of the band Tuff, who would go on to be their manager. A week after playing at Cruefest, they went into the studio with Gilby Clarke(former Guns N Roses guitarist), and recorded two songs.

In early 2006, the band toured Europe. In the spring of 2006 the band lived out of a silver Volvo stationwagon dubbed "The Silverfish" in the Camden section of central London, before finally moving to Los Angeles. One night while out partying in Hollywood, the band ran into Bam Margera (professional skateboarder, and star of MTV's Jackass & Viva La Bam) and they invited him out to one of their shows. After seeing how amazing Vains Of Jenna were live, Bam started a record label, Filthy Note Records, just so he could sign them. On October 24th 2006, less than two years after forming, Vains Of Jenna's first full length album, "Lit Up / Let Down" hit stores. The music video for the albums first single "Noones Gonna Do It For You", was directed by Bam and filmed at his house Castle Bam that was featured on his tv shows. Vains Of Jenna ended 2006, by preforming on the Playboy TV New Years Eve Special.

In January of 2007, Vains Of Jenna's song "Don't Give A Damn" was chosen to be the theme song to Bam's newest MTV show "Bam's Unholy Union". The band even appeared in two episodes of the show, preforming and hanging out at Bam's Las Vegas bachelor party, and attending Bam's wedding.

Things just kept getting better and better for VOJ in 2007, when they were asked to open for Poison & RATT's 50+ date summer amphiteatre tour. Following the Poison/RATT tour, Vains Of Jenna were featured on the fall 2007 Bam Margera Presents Viva La Bands tour, alongside Cradle Of Filth, CKY, and Gwar, in support of the Viva La Bands Vol. 2 compilation CD that featured VOJ's newest song "Enemy In Me". They also appeared on the TV show "Kat Von D's LA Ink" preforming "Enemy In Me".

In 2008 the band toured extensively in the US and Europe. In 2009 the band did just as much touring even playing some European festivals like the Sweden Rock Festival. The band was also featured in two books in 2009, Kat Von D's New York Times Best Seller "High Voltage Tattoo",and Bam Margera's scrapbook style biography "Serious As Dog Dirt". The band was also featured in rock photographer Neil Zlozower's 2010 photobook "FUCK YOU" .

In September of 2009 the band released their 2nd full length album, "The Art Of Telling Lies". The first single was "Get It On", the video for the song depicted the band rocking out in the desert. The second single off of the album was "Mind Pollution", the video for this song, which was filmed in New York City, was released in January 2010.

On March 15th 2010 it was announced that Lizzy DeVine was parting ways with the band. The band who was about to go on a major European tour, posted on their MySpace that they were in need of a new singer. A few days later it was announced that Jesse Forte, lead singer of the Hollywood based band Cast Of Kings, had been selected as their new lead singer. They played their first show with Jesse at the Whiskey A Go Go in April of 2010 right before heading back to Europe to tour. The also band recruited Swedish guitarist Anton Sevholt, to play rhythm guitar for their live shows.

The band released an EP called "We Can Never Die", featuring rerecorded versions of their songs "The Art Of Telling Lies", "Everybody Loves You When You're Dead", "Better Off Alone", and a new song "We Can Never Die", all with Jesse on vocals. The EP was released on iTunes in Spring of 2010, and sold at their concerts. In May of 2010 the band also filmed a music video for their song "Everybody Loves You When You're Dead", this was their first music video with Jesse, and only music video with Anton ("Everybody Loves You When You're Dead" is the only music video that shows Vains Of Jenna as a 5 piece band). JP worked as the director of photography on the music video, which was shot in Sweden.

Following their European spring/summer 2010 tour, the band returned back to the United States. In the fall of 2010, aside from doing an extensive North American tour, the band also played in South America for the first time, doing packed shows in in Brazil and Argentina. Following their fall 2010 tour, Anton parted ways with the band and returned to Sweden.

In February 2011, Vains Of Jenna released the first single off of their next album, a rock cover of the Cee Lo Green song "Fuck You". Vains Of Jenna's third album and first with Jesse, "Reversed Tripped", was released in April of 2011, the album consisted entirely of covers.

At the end of April 2011, the band embarked on a 54 city tour of the United States. The band had hired Swedish guitarist Joel Eliasson to be their new rhythm guitarist.. The band finished the tour on July 2nd 2011 at the Whiskey A Go Go in West Hollywood, the same place they played their first American gig... This would be the last US show they ever played.

In mid July 2011, the band played some shows in Mexico City, before returning to Europe. The band did a massive European tour from the last week of August until the first week of November 2011. After their European tour, the band parted ways with their long time manager Stevie.

Though the band was rumored to have been working on a new album, on January 26th 2012 the band announced via their various social network accounts, that they had decided to call it quits after 7 years together.

" Vains Of Jenna calls it quits. After 7 years, we have amicably and mutually decided to end Vains Of Jenna. There's no drama behind the decision. We simply feel like it is time to move on in our lives and close this chapter. It has been a truly amazing journey for us over the years and we are grateful for the opportunity to do what we've done with this band. A huge thanks to everyone involved, all of our supporters, and of course all of our fans from around the world. We love you. 1,2,3,4 THE END!!! Nicki, Jacki, JP and Jesse."
