I am sure everyone is looking forward to a great time in Chicago in a little over a month!  I wanted to give you a couple of updates along with the info on this years John F. Saturday February 22nd at 6:00pm will be drinks and appetizers with dinner to follow at 7:00pm.  We look forward to welcoming our new graduate Prosthodontic residents into our society along with celebrating all of their accomplishments this past year!  Of course we are all looking forward to catching up with old friends as for most of us only see each other once a year!  If you would be so kind to<span style="color:#FB0106;"> </span><span style="color:#FB0106;font-weight:bold; "><a href="online/index.html" title="Payments">RSVP for the dinner by February 15th</a></span><span style="color:#FB0106;"> </span>at the latest that would be great.  I will get the menu out to everyone as soon as it is solidified.  <br /><br />On another note, I am excited to inform you that I have found someone to help take care of the communication for the group.  As many of you know, since Marge Maesaka became ill and Dr. Sue Hovijitra retired, I have been trying to keep the group going!  I have been in search of someone that has the skills to help communicate with such a broad group of individuals and the ability to create a wonderful newsletter that we all loved!!  I want to introduce you to Alexandria Stewart!  I have know Alex for some time but did not realize what she has done in her career.  I am excited and super relieved to finally find someone to help keep such a great group connected.  <br /><br />With all of that being said, I really need your help in obtaining any changes of email addresses, mailing addresses, and updates in your personal/professional career that you would like to share.  Alexandria will be helping me obtain and update all the contact information for our members, create a newsletter with all the updated info for our members and introduce our residents.  We will also be working with the website and <strong><a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/858169454200641/" title="Facebook Group">Facebook</a></strong> page to keep things updated.  Please feel free to either contact Alex or myself with the updates.  <br /><br />As always, it is important to remember this society can not support our residents without your help!!  Again, our dues are only $50 per year and can be paid in many different ways. I send warm greetings from the fabulous Great Lake State of Michigan.  This past year has been a very productive and positive year for me as I have undergone several life changes, both professionally and personally.  <br /><br />     After several years of working in the corporate sector of dentistry, I finally took on the responsibility of business ownership by opening my own practice in Ferndale, Michigan.  It has been a lifelong dream of mine to be able to provide cutting edge and up-to-date digital technology in my daily practice as previous practice opportunities I was involved in did not afford the ability to incorporate this style of practice.  Since I was a resident in the early 2000&rsquo;s, we have seen a major paradigm shift in the field of dentistry and in prosthodontics with the introduction of advanced digital technology that has made providing patient care much easier and more convenient for the patient and the clinician.  I don&rsquo;t think it&rsquo;s wrong to assume that we live in a great time when it comes to the practice of dentistry, and more specifically, our practice of prosthodontics.  While it is an aspect of dentistry that many dentists have been slow to adopt due to the price point, we, as prosthodontists, need to seize the opportunity to enrich our careers and continue to be the leaders of dentistry by becoming the experts in this area that is still quite an untapped resource.  It will be a way to set our specialty apart from everyone else and to help preserve it for a long time to come.<br /><br />     On a personal note, 2016 was extremely significant as I finally met the woman whom I am excited to make my wife in the Fall of 2017.  Ever since I met Rebecca, I feel like I finally found my soulmate and have been able to find overall balance in my life.   With our impending wedding and the fact that I recently opened my dental practice, I definitely have a lot of things in plate for the following year, but I guess I wouldn&rsquo;t want it any other way.  Life is too short, so I say life each day to the fullest, enjoy new experiences with your significant other or with friends, and strive to be the best you can be, always.  If any of you ever plan on coming to the Southeast Michigan area, please don&rsquo;t hesitate to contact us.  Remember that you will always be welcome in our home.  <br /><br />     I&rsquo;m very honored and proud to have served as president of this fine society over the course of this last year.  My hope is to see as many of you as possible at this year&rsquo;s mid-Winter meeting and JFJ dinner.  Let&rsquo;s continue to preserve and take pride in the legacy of John F.
