.SH "DESCRIPTION"
.IX Header "DESCRIPTION"
This object is meant to be used in testing. All possible overloading
and method calls die. You can pass this object into methods which are
not supposed to accidentally trigger any potentially overloading.
.PP
This problem arose when testing Data::Dump::Streamer and
Carp. The former was triggering overloaded object methods instead
of just dumping their data. Data::Dump::Streamer is now safe for
overloaded objects but it wouldn't have been unless it hadn't have
been tested with a deadly, overloaded object.

The class method \f(CW\*(C`Object::Deadly\->new\*(C'\fR returns an \f(CW\*(C`Object::Deadly\*(C'\fR

The class method kill_function accepts a function name like \f(CW\*(C`isa\*(C'\fR,
\&\f(CW\*(C`can\*(C'\fR, or similar and creates a function in the
\&\f(CW\*(C`Object::Deadly::_unsafe\*(C'\fR class of the same name.

An optional second argument is a code reference to die with. This
defaults to \f(CW\*(C`Object::Deadly\->can( '_death' )\*(C'\fR.

This class method kills all currently known \s-1UNIVERSAL\s0 functions so
they can't be called on a \f(CW\*(C`Object::Deadly\*(C'\fR object. This includes
a list of methods known to the author and then an inspection of
\&\s-1UNIVERSAL::\s0.
.ie n .IP """Object::Deadly\->get_death""" 4
